Hello Ragn!
To say it short -- I care litlle about the TV6 being closed. In more detail: TV6 is a private enterprize. One of the stockholders - namely Lukoil Pension Fund is totally dissatisfied with all the losses of the company during the last three years. So they applied to the court to get at least anything, claiming the company bancrupt. And, financially, it is bancrupt. There were no soldiers with AK-47 putting siege round the office of TV6, no KGB agents pressing them to stop the activity, no anything of this sort. Those guys - Gusinskiy and Berezovskiy are used to make money by stealing. By controlling the assets of the state. They simply are not capable to make a business profitable. If TV6 had profits -- no such decision of the court would be possible. Now they are crying about the state bringing the last independent station down. In reality - IMHO, Kremlin cares very little about the independent press. Kremlin is not accepting the control of the corrupt oligarkhs over the mass media. The reason is not, that these people are rich mighty businessmen. The reason is that they are whores who made their money by stealing from the state and ordinary people (remember AVVA of Berezovskiy?). So, my opinion is quite relaxant - there will be no TV6 -- there will be some other TV station. At the end of the day, NTV is still on the market. |

Dear Ron!
I'm not insisting on my point of view. Of course different people see it differently. But still, both NTV and TV6 (and, in the past, state-owned and Berezovskiy-controlled ORT) were used just as instruments for the political games. Like -- you give me (insert appropriate here -- say, a loan worth USD 1 billion, or the shares of the state-owned company, or preferrences with privatizing some company) and I will not pour dirt on you on my channel. It worked well during the Jeltsin era, but it could not last forever. But the companies were not managed as normal business enteties, they only generated losses and never profits. Otherwise it would be extremely difficult to close them down. And, as I said before, the company, which started the bacrupcy case against TV6 (Lukoil - Garant) today guaranteed that in case of the bancrupcy process will be started, they will re-finance the company and hand-over the shares of the company to the journalists working there. |

so, Scottie, just how "independent" was this TV6?
1.The "Russian" tycoon Boris Berezhovsky? i guess comrade Berezhovsky would like it ![]() 2. Is Dr Woland coming back? probably not, Bob, the comrade'd given it his best shot and it didn't work ![]() 3. But there is a reference to a link between Ragnvald and herr Woland? Look, Bob, comrade Ragnvald is the only one who can clear his name from these bourgeois allegations ![]() And if it's true? it would be a fall-out, Scottie. that's the doggish spirit. 4. But why? Cheer up, Bob, IT'S MOSES' LOVE, CHANGES ALL THE TIME ![]() foma fomich |
