An apology from an American

I suppose the title of this thread is supposed to contrast the 'In Defense of Americans' thread.

I would like to apologize for the childish behavior of fellow Americans on the board. Intelligent discussion is not impossible. Reducing a debate to name-calling is trite and base. Disagreeing is completely appropriate and indeed - inevitable, but the way we handle these disagreements speaks volumes of a person's character.

To my chagrin I must admit some childish behavior on my own part when confronting the discurteous arrogance of some of my countrymen. I must practice the Divine principle of forgiveness that I advocate and refrain from further transgressions of a similar nature. I will not edit my posts up to this point as a reminder and because the *******s deserve every word.MAKEWARNOMORE!T.

deserves respect, though with reservations! the roots of bourgeois conservatism, covert or progressive are not exactly a shirt one can take off that easily.

Frankly, I too have become tired of the childish simplicity some display in their "arguments". I don't mind debate, but unless there is some coherence or some indication of something other than blind, rabid emotionalism, I prefer not to reply.

When someone starts behaving like this it brings out similar responses, and I'm guilty of this as well. If this starts again, let's just not respond and let that thread drop down.
