Cool

I teach 7th grade special ed and am looking for general travel info and posters to use in teaching my 20 students about geography, social studies, math, science, language arts, etc., by using maps and travel brochures. Multiple copies for use by my whole class would be great, but I understand if you are unable to send them for each student.

I am also looking for email penpals, if you know anyone who would be willing to correspond with my kids! Thank you very much for your assistance.

Hello....

I'm actually in New Jersey, I have installed 3 computers at a senior center and now I am teaching them the internet. Would your students be interested in senior pen-pals??

Hello, Traper!

Thanks for your response. I am interested in making friends and penpals for my students from all over the world. I know a little about Poland, but my students have not studied about it. We would be very interested to hear from you. We have just celebrated Thanksgiving here in the US yesterday, and have a holiday yesterday and today. Do you know of our Thanksgiving? I will send you a copy of an email I sent to all our penpals earlier this week if you would like to see it. I gave a brief history lesson about the Pilgrims and their journey to America to have religious freedom. This was how our Thanksgiving began.

We are in Florida at the very north edge of the Gulf of Mexico, where Florida and Alabama meet.

Best wishes, Margarete

Thumbs up Such a Wonderful Teacher You Are

Dear Margarete,
I think it would help us to help you if we knew the kinds of things you ideally would like your students to be exposed to: Art/Culture/Language/History/Travel/Daily Life? How old are 7th graders and what are they interested in; what are their current classes about, and what do they personally want out of life? The best always seems to be a comparison between your students' daily lives and the same lives of similar-aged students elsewhere. You are located in nice, warm weather... how about finding a link-up with students of the same age in Iceland or Finland, something the opposite of your home's location. Sorry, I'm just trying to help... I wish you much fortune in finding what you need. MarkusT
