I have to have a discussion tomrw for school and basically its on russia's involvement in WW2. I need to know how the economy was during 1930's and 40's and also politically who russia wanted to deal with and how the population was doing as far as jobs and needs. Also, with their military numbers and what exacly was their position on who and what to attack or defend from. Any other information on what Russia really wanted to go for would be mucho mucho appreciated!!! thanks a lot :-)

Russia's involvement in WW2 is very simple.
Germany invaded Russia and had expanded it's empire known as The Axis Power. This consisted of Germany,Italy, and Japan. Russia fought fiercely against the German's. Still Germany succeded in taking over some of Russia expanding it's empire. When everbody thought that Hitler and his Nazis wouldnt be defeated The U.S,Britian,France,Greece,Luxemberg,Poland,Denmark,Belgium, and a whole lot of other country's decided that we would stop Hitler's Terrorism of killing innocent Jews and people when he himself had a little bit of Jewish in His background.

Simple?
Wolfman,
I think you should spend some time reading some of the threads dedicated to that topic. I think it was a little more complicated than you suggest. Besides, Russia didn't end up losing territory to Germany. Once the tide turned for Russia, the Red Army booted the Germans all the way back to Berlin. Voyager |

I wasn't going to say anything but I have to. The wolfman is right Russia or (The Soviet Union) did lose some land. In fact Hitler almost got to Moscow. But the red army (like you said) booted the Germans back to Berlin.
