Hi Joseph and sorry for the delay.
Godel's theorum was something I covered at University, in fact my tutor had met Godel when he was at Princeton- and was very interested in this field of work. Although the actual paper is highly technical, there are some more 'intuitive' proofs that do not require as much knowledge, and then to be taught in Computer Science degrees and are more based around theories of computability (which is often the same thing). In the UK (at least when I was 15) we studied basic differential and integral Calculus. In my first year at university, this is put into a more rigourous description and in my final year, I studied a subject called Measure Theory which extends the notions of Calculus into a more general theory that can be applied to non-continuous functions (such as Dirac's delta function). I did study Tensor calculus, both from a geometric and algebraic perspective. The latter formed part of a course I did on Multilinear Algebra where they are treated as strictly algebraic 'objects' and can then allow theorums to be developed that can relate back to their 'geometric' properties and which is the one must commonly associated with Tensors. But this was all many years ago, and I doubt I can remember much of it now ! They do allow you to prove some very important and powerful theories in differential geomtery and have play a very important role in much of modern physics (especially in gravitaion/General Relativity). It seems now that a great dealmof modern physics requires a sound knowledge of such areas and of Topology, so if this is what interests you most, it would be good to try and gain a head start and try and find out more about these subjects- unfortunately, much of it can seem very abstract and dry at the start, but are worth it in the end as they are a very useful set of 'tools' to have. |

u seem to have studyied an awefull lot! welll, u must be a genious. i'm sorry if i have been late. as for me, i'm going to go to class eleven. however, personally, i've covered most of class 11 syllabus and have even finished off a bit of class 12.in fact in school, i usually get the all section highest in mathematics and all school hieghest in physics. however, as u sure must know(having done such a lot of studying) that knowledge is endless. therefore i usually consider myself to be a tiny spec of nothingness amid a vast ocean of knowledge! personnally, i like physics most. i feel very much honoured to come across a person like u. u can contact me at anubratadutta@yahoo.co.in |
