dear root, it's so good to hear you answer back, i am really sorry that i couldnt reply back before, i had my physics mains exams going on, so i hadnt the time, well, now i am free, and can write again... i must say, its great to be back in this wonderful russia.com after quite some time now...
first of all, thanks for answering, that was the perfect answer, though did you know that using progression, u can prove that the total sum of an infinite progression was a finite number? try the proof out, its real interesting...u cant proce it wrong...
i do hope, that u continue writing, mate!
well, i am really sorry for what that scum wrote...i am the moderator here, i should have deleted his message, well, i am sorry i couldnt do it earlier, just dont mind him, he is barking mad...our dear administrator did the right thing by telling him off...
anyways, lets forget about this regrettable incident and continue with our discussion. justin.

Thank you Justin, and don't worry about JosephInternetionale, people like him are part of life

I hope your exam went well and look forward to having some more interesting discussions now you have more time.

Good to see you back too.

There was a very interesting article, some while back, in New Scientist about transfinite arithmetic. There is an Israeli Mathematician who has developed some very interesting results in this field. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the article, and cannot find it on their web site, but if I can find it in the library, I'll pass it on to you.

My (old) algebra professor, Paul Cohen, actually made an intersting proof in relation to this area so it brings back some memories

root, thanks for answering-again...well, it sounds interesting, tell me more about it
by the way, actually, i know more thingsin physics rather than mathematics since its my main subject, anyways, i'll try t increase myself to your level regarding mathematics
By the way, did you try out that progression proof?

two balls a and b are thrown horrizontally from a point o with velocities 3m/s and 4m/s in the opposite direction, simultaneously.find the separation between them when their respective velocities are perpendicular to each other...
its a tough problem, try it out, Root, it is a part of physics though... Justin,
{ by the way, i took care of that idiot , u know, edited his message . }

I was never going to get it, but reading it alone confused me (I'm not a physician), how can velocities be perpendicular!?

I don't know if this question is relevant, but here goes:

If the universe is expanding, then what is it expanding "in"? Is there a big bowl of "stuff" that the universe sits in? Is there something beyond the edge of the universe? What's the gravy surrounding the hunk of meat we call the universe?
