In all due respect Justin for your info you are reiterating something that I already have a firm grasp on, and that is the fact that neither you, nor anyone else here for that matter, is superior over any other person here or elsewhere. If you read my statement correctly I said "it seems to be" common among various forums on this particular site solely based upon the disrespectfulness towards others in some (not all) posts through out the forums. So how is it possible for you to get into my head and tell what it is I really think? Simply amazing. You are, without a doubt, making an inference here. Plus, I'm going to venture to guess that you're not quite old enough to fully realize how hurtful mere words can be to another individual. Now poor ole Marco may be doing just fine with you belittling him the way you did in your initial reply. But there are others who may be deterred by such a statement. You know something else, in my few years now of interacting with people that have an exceedingly high IQ such as yourself Justin, it’s literally amazing how many there are that simply have very little people skills. This only becomes apparent whenever there is a need to communicate effectively with others. I’m not trying to diss you here, but was only trying to point out to you something you should really consider before you tend to speak out so quickly with out thinking of how this may adversely affect someone else.

with all due respects to you, i must say you are ever in the habbit of fiddling with past bygone happenings! if you are careful enough to note the dates, my reply to marco was quite some time back, after which many people including our experienced moderators, wrote many things and there was a lot of debate and i also sent in an apology stating clearly that i am sorry to all those whome i have apparantly hurt. well, it is therefore natural that this particular issue should be forgotten and members here start posting their articles anew. but then you came in and instead of posting interesting articles, queries, scientific facts and data, or for that matter answering marco's question, you start to point out what you think is wrong in what is a repetition of what others have already said.
let me tell you once more what i have already said before a number of times. like you i too am strongly in the opinion of equality of board members, and i dont like to belittle anyone. my first reply to marco was an unfortunate exception to this rule of mine, for which i am really sorry. in the science forum you are welcome, very very welcome, to send whatever posts you like on the condition that it pertains to science.
so, now at last i hope all this unnecessary and unwarranted debate about the definition of science stops, and you guys (and myself) chanellise our energies in posting quality materials, and not criticize others.
regards, justin.
ps:- one more thing...you have mentioned that i seem to have less communicative skills. i must remark that this particular allegation is all wrong as then i wouldnt have been chosen and retained as the moderator for all this while by our respected administrator. as i mentioned earlier, an isolated post means or proves nothing. if you are patient enough to look at my previous postings you will see for yourself how i respect others, members and fellow molderators alike, and i do believe i go on very well with them. in fact i mostly confine myself to the science section and hardly even take part in the administrative debates.
nevertheless, all said and done, i hope the unpleasantaries between us ends and we start new hereafter.

I agree, let's move on

Yeah, being new here, I reacted a bit hastily in my reply directed towards you Justin, and I do sincerely apologize for seemingly lashing out at you when in fact, I don’t know you as a person. But a great deal of the time, it’s the manner in which we communicate (particularly on the internet) that sends the perception to others about ourselves, and it may be right or maybe wrong, but it’s how we come across and represent ourselves as human beings. We all should be treating each other with utmost respect. But please don't misunderstand me, as I'm not saying this as an inference to you, but towards all of us (paticularly myself included)to be more coginitive of others rights, privledges, feelings, etc, etc.

And yes, I am perusing this science forum simply because it is an interest of mine, and I predominately wish to learn (and must say this is a wonderful place to do so), ask questions, and even share at times. So once again, I earnestly apologize if I came across as mean-spirited towards you or spoke to you in a derogatory fashion, as that certainly wasn’t my intention. It's just that sometimes I feel it to be appropriate to speak up. And that of course may or may not be such a good thing as percieved by others. However, more than all else, as you said, I am now putting this all behind, moving forward and looking ahead to becoming a part of this, and all other forums here at Ru.com. This is in fact a pretty cool place, and you're definitely a part of it that makes it so.

Oh, and thanks for your replies Justin, as they helped me (and I’m sure others as well) to find out a little about Justin as a person, which is a positive thing in my humble opinion.

Thanks again and best regards.

Smile

that was a nice email i got at last....thank you.
yeah, we all, and myself particularly welcome you once again to russia.com, and more so, the science forum. in the past few months, i noticed a decreasing number of interesting posts in this forum which made me sad as i think that due to the nature of the subject it should be one of the most interesting, dynamic, and "happening" forums here, but the lack of good postings made it look otherwise. i have been looking very intently for members in this board who have a good knowledge in the subject and are able to devote a little time to write here, and write quality stuff.(of course everybody is welcome, as long as they abide by the rules). very recently the ongoings at the science forum made me still sadder, (if thats correct english!) as the past few posts were all regarding criticisms and nasty duels, which after all shifted the focus from the main thing: the posting of good science based articles. now that our differences and misunderstandings are resolved hopefully the science forum will become more interesting with the postings of more and more articles.
let me tell you something. i still remember the time i first logged onto russia.com. it was doubtless a fantastic site but what attracted me to it was the science forum...yeah, i became a member here with a vision to write in the science column. and then when i eventually got my password and came back as a member, the first thing i did was to post an article here....and that was the starting....wether or not i got replies i didnt care - i just wrote on..as it pleased myself to write because i adored the science section here. i hardly ever even glanced at the other forums though i knew they too were splendid. and then, seeing my devotion to this column, our administrator one day appointed me moderator...guess where? for the science forum!! that made me still more happy....because then i would be able to not only write here but also moderate what others wrote...this was good because during my days here as junior member and member i noticed a good many posts which swayed from topic and were irrelevant, and more still, some were also abusive (posted by quarantined users) and they as a whole (i thought) spoiled the wonderful environment of this awesome science forum.
when you have read all this boring stuff i have put in you might think this is all trash. yes it is. but i wrote this to tell you all how much i am attached to this section and if in my zeal to keep it as it is i write some hurtful lines (completly unintending of course), or moderate a bit harshly i hope you'll understand and forgive and forget about it...for instance, when you lashed at me and said hurtful things it really hurt me....not because it was dircted at me but because it was spoiling the atmosphere here. anyways, from seeing your writings i feel that you have a good hold over the language and you can argue and reason quite well. so i think if you could post some good articles here they would be a good read and enrich this forum a great deal more. secondly, if you scroll back you'll see many questions put by me in the past based mostly on classical physics or quantum physics which have either been answerd wrong or answered in a vague manner. the interesting thing about my questions is that they in most cases have more than one answer or thay can be proved wrong using certain arguments. why dont you give them a try? and when your posting something of your own you could try to include topics such as robotics, astrophysics, or software engineering as they are so flourishing nowadays. that would be indeed interesting.
regards, justin
