Volcano Erupts in Kamchatka Peninsula

RIA-Novosti - On Monday morning the Shiveluch volcano started to erupt in Kamchatka. The eruption poses no threat to the nearest town of Klyuchi 50 km off Shiveluch, the Emergency Ministry's directorate for Kamchatka has said.

Shiveluch is one of the highest volcanoes in the Kluchevskaya group. Its height is 3,283 m above the sea level. Last time it erupted 37 years ago.
