Assymetric answer...

Is this the concept developed by the Soviet scientists, that could be effectively used to disable US space program - military use satellites - by launching an estimated 100 metric tons of simple steel nails to the orbits corresponding to those of the hostile space vehicles? nails in turn would distort the signals being sent and received by the satellites.

An ingenious idea if you ask me.
