Hello to all,
I was wrong to want the mir destroyed.
Here is a quote from a news article
Mir's interior size is larger than the combined space of ten NASA Shuttles. It was
built to be expandable, and MirCorp's plans include major growth out from the core
station. MirCorp plans to sell shares to the public next year, to raise funds needed for
future space missions, for renovation, and to occupy and maintain the Station. The
company is also actively seeking cash from corporate sponsors

Yes, Mir is badly in need of repairs, but for historical purposes it should be joined to the new International Space Station where it would be repaired and refurbished and where it could continue to servce mankind for many more years. As an American, this is my salute to the gallant cosmonauts of the Russia and the USSR, and recognition of the contribution Russia has made to the space age. Together we can accomplish more than we can seperately. And when you are up there, it is easy to see that we all live on the same world and so we are all citizens of that world.
