Unhappy

A brilliant Georgian sports commentator, a true legend Kote Makharadze has died. He got the heart attack during the football match between Russia and Georgia on 12 October and couldn't recover. Eternal memory.

The saddest thing was the reason for his heart-attack. For some reasons the electricity supply stopped in the middle of the match. The match was abandoned and Kote got an apopectic insult.

I think not only the failed match told on him but also disgusting comments of some Russian TV commentators did. He was justly indignant at some of them. "Ah these incomptetent Georgians! They can't even organize a soccer match! Next time they oughtn't be trusted" Our journalists telling about Georgia issues are not better then Werstern journalist telling about Russian issues. Vultures.

I don't know Deni. As far as I understood he had an insult during the match so he simply couldn't hear any of the Russian commentators. But what to expect from the commentator after the crowd boohed at Russian anthem and threw rocks in the bus of the Russian team

Not exatly. The stroke occured 4 hours affter the match and he even had time to give interview to Georgian and Russian TV. He accused Russian media in 'artificial politization' of this match. I think justly. Because Russian media stirred up bad feelings both before and after the match. The story with throwning stones (if it really occured) was only an episode in after-match comments. The general tone (at least of ORT commentators) was evidently malicious.
Makharadze did so much to bring about peace between our nations. Nothing surprising if these gloating comments adversely affected him.
