tell me NZman

at what point did Florence or me ask others to bash American football?

Florence wanted to know if American football played in Russia, we started talking about football, and then you came in with your fancy dress remarks!!

I do not post to bash rugby, why do you have a need to offend others?

Florence.....My name is Viktor and I live in Charlotte, NC (Go Panthers) but a longtime Bills fan. You know, I may have seen this "experimental" team from Russian that you mention. They travelled to several cities and the last stop on their tour (I believe) was Charlotte. And I also believe that we gave them their only (!) victory.

Charlotte had a semi-pro team at that time and after the scheduled game of the night they introduced this team from Russia to play against some scrub-team they pulled together just for this event. The Russian team's only experience was what they had learned on this tour but I believe they had been training under a US coach. The Russian team was made up of atheletes from other fields....especially track & field. The quarterback was a pole vaulter.

My sons and I relocated ourselves behind the Russian team's bench and it was most interesting to watch these guys play. They were certainly just "winging" it. But they were high-fiving the fans and carrying on splendidly. And it was most exciting when they actually scored some points and won the game....it was very much their SuperBowl. They've got one more than my Bills have.

It's always great to find other sports fans....especially football fans. Being a New Orleans fan, you've probably never gone to a game where the foam in your beer freezes or the wind is so strong that you have a better chance of drinking your neighbor's beer than your own. It was great fun being a Bills fan.....especially when they were unbeatable (at least in the AFC).
