Kournikova's Father "Sick and Tired" of Wedding Rumours

Reuters - The father of Anna Kournikova has expressed his irritation with continuing rumours about his daughter's marital status.

British newspaper The Sun reported on Monday that Russian tennis player Kournikova, had married ice hockey player Sergei Fedorov in a secret Moscow ceremony.

Anna's father, Sergei, said on Monday: "Anna is in Florida at the moment and has begun training. I am sick and tired with the calls about her marriage."

Sergei did not confirm nor deny that Kournikova had married compatriot and long-time boyfriend Fedorov, who plays for Detroit Red Wings in the National Hockey League.

Kournikova, 20, has been out of action since February with a stress fracture of her left foot. Her agent said Kournikova would not resume playing until she was completely fit.

Last year, The Mirror, another British tabloid newspaper, said that Kournikova was engaged to Pavel Bure, a Russian hockey player who plays for the Florida Panthers. Both later denied the report.
