Tennis Champion Kafelnikov Has No Advice for New Father Agassi
Reuters - Russian Yevgeny Kafelnikov says he will not advise new father Andre Agassi on how to handle parenthood and tennis at the same time.
"I don't think I'm in a position to give Agassi any advice," Kafelnikov, who has a three-year-old daughter, told the media at the weekend when asked to share his expertise with the American, whose wife Steffi Graf gave birth to a boy last Friday.
"Well, first of all he is much older than me, second, he has won more Grand Slam titles than I have, so he probably doesn't need me to teach him anything.
"Besides, he has a lot more experience of how to handle marriage than I have. As some of you might know, before marrying Steffi Graf Agassi was married to Brooke Shields."
Kafelnikov divorced his wife Maria earlier this year, then won custody of his daughter Olesya after a lengthy court battle.
The former French and Australian Open champion had Olesya at his side at last week's St Petersburg Open, where he lost to fellow Russian Marat Safin in the semifinals.
