Anyone catch the Latvia vs. Slovakia hockey game?
It was AWESOME! 4 goals scored in the 1st period alone. Final score: 6-6.

Couldn't help but notice that many (most?) Latvian players had Russian names.

Latvia will play Germany on Tuesday night
Germany beat Austria 3-2 earlier Sunday.

What will happen with Slovakia now ?

I caught the Germany/Austria game as well. Nothing too exciting. I can't believe the Austrians had beaten Slovakia. Slovakia was a strong team against Latvia, where as Austria looked clumsy playing Germany.

Sadly, Slovakia's fate has been sealed. They needed a win over Latvia to proceed, and got a tie game instead.

Can't wait to see the Russians play. I hear the Swedes have a tough team.

I don’t know but they don’t show RUS vs SWE on TV here. The game is supposed to be going on right now.

Are you in the U.S., Mari? We have two channels that broadcast the Olympics, the main channel concentrating (so far) on ski-type events and ice skating. The other channel has been pretty much exclusively hockey.

Kazakhstan got KILLED. Though their goalie can't be blamed much, she deflected something like 50 shots.

Did you catch Ukraine vs the Swiss? Awesome game, the Ukkies won 5-2!
