All I can say is that even before the Olympics Canadians were convinced of winning the gold. Well, I still support the Russian team.

Bon, the Russian link does not work.

Yes, I hope there wont be any false judgements and things like this happening in the women’s figure skating.

Thanks for the link, it just I think too late, as I think all this did not give the opportunity for Russians to enjoy their gold medal.

by the way

Today the French Judge gave an interview to the French newspaper 'l'Equipe'.

She said she really was under pressure during the last two years (!!!)

Quote:
Je me suis sentie visee.

Canada vs. Russia

Hi everybody!! I'm new here so go easy on me. I have to say that the Olympics this year were supposed to have a really important meaning because of what happened September the 11th. It was supposed to mark the first major international gathering between the nations of this world and now it has turned into the second cold war. This time between Canada and Russia. Be it the comments made by Wayne Gretzky or the whole figure skating fiasco, Canada and Russia have once again been divided. I watched the pairs final on Monday and honestly I don't know who should have won because both teams were good. Artistry is really important in figure skating but if it was the only important thing then ballet would have been considered to be an Olympic sport to. I feel bad for all the athletes involved and yes I am Canadian but the thing is Canada didn't start it, the American media did. I'm a fan of both the Canadian pairs team and the Russian team. Both of them had great performances on Monday. Who should have won? Who knows. Canada is not Russia's enemy and even though you may hate us the truth is we don't hate you. Lots of Canadians feel that B/S had a great performance and deserved to win. Lots of Russians felt that the Canadian team should have won. I thought they both should have won and I guess I got what I wanted. Anyway lets make peace not war during a time in which the world is already divided by war.

It can't happen soon enough. "Artistry and elegance," is a wholly subjective area which has been used as a bludgeon to keep incredible athletes, Midori Ito, for example, down, and elevate skaters of lesser abilities to the top of the podium. Artistic scores are permeated with politics and have nothing to do with artistry and everything to do with nationalist homerism.

Higher, faster, stronger. What's not to understand?
