I think the Russian skater Irina Slutskyaya??? misspelled last name, won the short program. Her jumps were higher and looked like they took less effort. Michelle was leaning into one of her triples on the takeoff. I think she got ahead on points because of artistic impression, but I couldn't she a big difference in that myself. Michelle just has a bigger smile. Does that deserve a better score?

Also the Russian skaters outfits were the best of them all. I just love that see through material with the shiny bead accents. That in itself is worth straight 6's across the board.

Actually Kwan won the short program. Too bad Beryznaya (sp?) didn't finish in the top three. I really like her style. What do you think of Sasha Cohen, the young American? She has good technique, but she looks like a little kid... I think she finished in the top three.

I'm looking forward to tonight, when we see the long programme.

I think Sasha Cohen's mother is Ukrainian, so she is part Ukrainian.

Unfortunately, these last two days I could not watch any skating or any sport event, but hopefully I can watch the women’s final tonight.

Or did it already happen ?

Jutka

Why do you think Michelle was better? The Russian, Irina jumps higher and looks more relaxed in her routine. also her spinning is better that Kwans. Did you see her grab her skate and pull it behind her head and spin on one leg?

The Russian skaters are better looking too.
Especially that 29 year old. Hmmmmmm...............

I didn't say I thought Michelle was better, but the judges voted her first, that's why I said she won the short programme.

I really liked Slutskaya. I would have voted for Beryzhnaya had she not had those shaky landings. Hopefully she does better tonight.

Which 29 year old are you talking about?
