Ahhh...
So the cocky Americans lost, even though Bush "Gave them a powerful pep talk." Hah! Serves them right! I'm happy for Germany.

Turkey Match report!
Turkey booked a first ever World Cup semi-final date thanks to a 'Golden Goal' from Ilhan Mansiz.
Both sides struggled for 93 minutes to break the deadlock in Osaka, but it was left to a substitute to do the job. Umit Davala romped down the right and crossed into the box where the Besiktas striker met the ball on the half-volley and guided a sweet shot inside the far post. Turkey now face the Brazilians in Saitama on Wednesday in what will be a repeat of the fiery Group C opener that saw two players sent-off and Rivaldo fined by FIFA. But any ill feeling is on hold as Senal Gumes and his men will celebrate this history-making triumph: they have never made it this far in the World Cup before. The three R's - Ronaldo, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho - represent the biggest challenge left in the tournament, but Turkey are no respectors of reputation. They also have a score to settle. And with Hasan Sas, Yildiray Basturk and Umit on their game, a shock that was beyond England may be within the capabilities of their Euro 2004 qualifying group rivals. Senegal bow out at the quarter-final stage, but Bruno Metsu's men have captured the imagination of the world since their victory over champions France in the opening game. And in players of the quality of El Hadji Diouf, Khalilou Fadiga and Salif Diao, they can repeat their feats. That will have to wait, however, and the finals continue with Turkey in the mix. Both teams had a number of chances in the first-half. Diouf had an effort ruled out for off-side after 19 minutes and team-mate Fadiga, back from suspension, struck the side-netting for Metsu's side. But Turkey carried the larger goal threat. Hakan Sukur squandered a golden chance to put them in the lead when Sas squared to him in front of goal and Basturk was deprived by a sensational clearance from Omar Daf. The Turks also enjoyed the greater share of possession throughout the game, with Emre Belozoglu buzzing around midfield and finding the dangerous Sas on regular occasions. Diouf and Fadiga led the fight in the other direction. Senegal looked more fluid in the second-half and Diouf fired just inches too high from a 20-yard free-kick. But back came Turkey. Basturk burst into the box only to have his left-foot effort brillaint blocked by Diatta. The game remained tight until the end of normal time and the Golden Goal period came into play. So did Ilhan, who entered the field in the 67th minute for the largely ineffective Sukur, and how he made his mark.
