Living in Canada I am amused by the ignorance of the Canadian people. Honestly, I can hardly take them seriusly. Their media exerciseing the art of the brainwashing. Almost all of them are the extreme case of brainwashed people.
So please don't blame Wolf for his comments.

Of course Canadians wanted to see their couple to win the gold, so they protested loud enough to get the second gold awarded.

However Fetisov should have known it better and keep quiet after loosing to the US. Not to mention the cases of the cross-country skiers.

Well, at least this time some based arguments we're used.

One thing I would like you to know is that Russia is the only country who claimed it's pair was better. Go look at the majority of reports in European newspapers and in general they are all favourable to the Canadian Pair. The mass complaining was done by north americans, but still the general view throuout the world was the same. Why maybe Ukraine, Kazaksthan, Latvia and those 500 other ex commies supported you views(I cannot speak russian, so i dunno), the views from dominant european countries such as France, England, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Italy all admitted in the obvious superiority of the Canadian Couple.

Either the US propaganda took over the world in such contries as Germany, France and Holland or Russian Propagagnda took over Russia. The latter is my choice...

You say that the Russians had a more difficult program, yet even if it was, the error they made shunned over that. It's not like the canadians skate was that much easier. They we're superior both in Jumps and elevations while maybe what they did in between was a bit less favourable to european tastes. The emotion rised from our pair was also much more evident. Anyway, based on the opinions of most experts, from most countries, we we're superior.

The only thing here I'll let you stick on is that the Olympic Comittee gave the medals because of the pressure of the media. Anyhow, as long as justice was served, the ways taken to get to it don't matter that much. Especially to overcome corruption.

Another thing I'd like to let you know is that americans don't take Canadians under their arms. We probably have the biggest rivalry of any two countries in this world in the winter olympics since we usually dominate the same kind of sports and both suck at others(I'm pointing to anything related to ski). They laughed at Team Canada all the way to the final, claiming we lost our sport to them, that the only reason we got to the final was our easy way through and bla bla bla bla BLA! I understand Wayne's comments, as I also felt a patriotic rage build inside of me. When we finally beat the living crap out of them, all Herb brooks could do was find lame excuses such as they we're tired because of playing Russia(does he forget they we're the oldest team in the tournament, with a 40 year old captain). He probably did not realize Lemieux, Yzerman, Shanahan we're all very hurt. We could have used that as an excuse. Lemieux will not play another game this season because of his hip, while Yzerman played with a broken finger.

Anyway, We obviously don't agree on anything, yet i still claim superiority of our couple.

That poll was taken several days *after* the competition during which many of the newspapers were screaming how Canadian pair (whatever their names are!) was "clearly" superior to the Russians. I recall reading two articles in the Ottawa Citizen (a Canadian newspaper) the next morning after that figure skating competition. The tone of the articles was *nowhere* near what it would become 1 week later. The authors were disappointed that Canada lost, but pointed out that both pairs' performances were about equally good. And now after 3 weeks of continous exaltation everybody here is saying that Canadians were "clearly vastly superior" to the Russians. Talk about propaganda!-


As soon as the competition finished all the commentators we're very mad and frustrated. One on NBC actually said" I'm ashamed for our sport". While both Canadian channels we're evidently protesting and already talking about judge corruption. They showed both performances one after the other dozens of times on every channel and broke their programs in little pieces, explaining everything and why the missed jump by the russians should alone have taken away more points from them than anything from the Canadian program. The crowds reaction had little to do with the fact the couple we're canadian, if you considered they cheered as loudly for the great performance of that singles Russian skater(can't remember tha man's name) who went on to win the gold medal. Understand that Americans don't care about us anymore than you. The reason they started that massive campaign is:

1. To a almost every viewer the Canadians we're better, including the commentators.
2. It was so blatant they new they would get a big story just by throwing in some spice in the mix. Instead of covering the not so popular skiing events.
3. Russia has been controlling such events in that manner for a very long time, and this was the drop who made the Dam break.

Also, the judges who rules in favor of Canada scored the canadians much higher, while those who voted Russia either scored .1(3 of them) better or drawed(2 of them), but because one of the two criterias is more important it ended up being 5-4, even if adding up all the scores would puts Canada in front.




To finish, to answer the one who said the russians we're more educated than Canadians, i'd just like you to take a look at the state of your country for a second.

Canada and Russia will be the "lasting" countries in this world because of the fact we have the biggest Gold, Oil, Water and Forest ressources. Unless China invades you or the US invades us, which won't happen for now.(I really hope!!!) yet, contrairly to Canada, Russia is not taking advantage of this economically. I wonder if that is because they are so smart. Oh sorry, thats because they are so corrupted and that the mafia bribes everything.

You do have the chess players though, which I am jealous of. Instead of teaching us art in school they should give us chess lessons...
