Question

Hi Everybody!

I'm going to Russia in December/2002 and I intend to stay 60 days there so how much money (USD) shoud I bring with me? I mean, how many rubles an ordinary person usually spend every month in Russia?

Thank you again, Vinnie

Hi Vinnie,

Russia is the largest country on earth! I think it makes a difference whether you'll be in Moscow or a small town in Siberia.

Also, there are so many factors, such as whether or not you have to pay for food or how often you dine out or whether you are frugal and only buy absolute essentials.

Perhaps saying what you will need to buy and finding out the prices will give you a better indication.

Have a great trip!

I travel a lot and there is an abundance of ATM's all over the world. I even found one in the jungles in Costa Rica. You'll see them everywhere in Moscow, so don't worry. Get a credit card and an ATM card, and take out cash as needed. It's safer than carrying around a hidden wad of moolah on your body.

Smile Money during my trip

First of all thank you everybody for have replied my message.

Well, I'm going to Novgorod and I'll stay the first 10 days in a 3 stars hotel and the rest of my 50 days in my friend's place.

I won't need to pay nothing for the meals while I'm in my friend's place but I'll surely want to go to a restaurant, visit a museum, drop by a tourist attraction or go to a theater sometimes and, of course, I'll invite my friend and pay all her expenses too.

I know it's hard to tell me the exact amount of money I'll need during my trip to Russia but I need at least a forecast of how much money I'll spend. What do you think about USD 500.00? Would it be enough for 60 days?

Once again thank you!
Vinnie

I think the 750$ would be - but you can ask me or your friend about average prices on some products, good or museums in Novgorod and calculate the amount more clearly...

My e-mail: seller777@yahoo.com or web site: http://www.flatspb.com

money

well, depends on how luxury you want to stay in russia.
actually, 750, as someone stated, is quite enough to stay in moscow - the most expensive city in russia, and prolly in the world. One room appartments - 200-250 usd, meals about 200, well, if you like shrimps and Tinkoff every night then 300. the rest is to be blown up at the best clubs.
