I am going to the Ukraine soon, but after I go to Odessa, I want to take a side trip to Moldava, then spend a few days there and go back to Odessa, before returning to the US. Do I need to have 2 visas, or will the same visa serve to enter and then re-enter Ukraine. Thanks for your help.

If you are passing through the Ukraine, between Russia and Moldava, you will need a transit visa for the Ukraine. A transit visa is easy to aquire and is valid for 5 days within the Ukraine. It normally takes only one week to get the visa. Alternatively, you can get one single "multiple entry visa" which should serve all of your plans of re-entry. It costs a bit more but may be more convienient for you at border crossings. This information is how it applies to Swedish citizens so I don't know if nationals of your country are expected to have the same requirements.

Actually, I'm heading to the Ukraine myself as soon as the temps get above the freezing point.
