Cost of living in Moscow these days

Hello! I am going to be traveling to Moscow for four months this fall to conduct some research and am putting a budget together. Can anyone estimate how much I need a month WITHOUT rent for expenses like food, transportation, phone calls, movies/theater, occasional night out etc? I don't even know what people make in Moscow these days.

What about rent? Nothing fancy, just a small apartment.

In addition, I will need to hire a transcriber - a person to type out audiotapes in Russian. It is a job that requires to special skill except typing in Russian, availability and reliability. What would be a reasonable rate to pay per tape (about 8 hours of work)?
